Forums

The ACFE SA Chapter resolved to create industry forums to discuss fraud issues pertaining to their specific needs. m

ACFE SA Forensic Standard Forum

Due to a lack of standardised guidelines in South Africa, the ACFE SA Forensic Standards Forum was established to develop standards to assist anti-fraud professionals in South Africa.

The primary purpose of the standards is to protect the public by ensuring consistency with a minimum standard of practice to be met by all anti-fraud professionals and Certified Fraud Examiners belonging to the ACFE SA. The Forum operates through a Committee made up of members of the ACFE SA that are specialists in various disciplines such as document examination, forensic fire investigations, pen-testing, etc.

The mandate of the Forum includes the development of professional and academic standards to improve the consistency and comparability of practice among anti-fraud professionals performing investigative engagements.

ACFE SA Cyber Forum

The ACFE SA established a Cyber Forum to implement a specialist stream for anti-fraud professionals and Certified Fraud Examiners practising in digital forensics. The Cyber Forum operates through a Committee made up of members of the ACFE SA with a specialised interest in digital forensics.

The mandate of the Cyber Forum includes the development of standard practices to improve the consistency and comparability of practice among anti-fraud professionals performing investigative engagements in their capacity as Digital Forensic Practitioners. In addition, the Cyber Forum facilitates quarterly specialised training for anti-fraud professionals and Certified Fraud Examiners practising in digital forensics.

The Forum seeks to create opportunities for those employed in the healthcare industry to connect, swap stories, and talk about pressing issues. Last but not least, the Forum strives to raise awareness of healthcare fraud, waste and abuse in SA.
