QUALITY CONFORMANCE ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME
Increase the ethics, professionalism and competence of your Fraud Examiners and your Fraud Examination function
The ACFE South Africa (ACFE SA) Quality Conformance Assessment Programme (QCAP) provides independent, authoritative validation of your fraud examination practices. Designed for corporate, public sector and in-house forensic teams, our programme confirms compliance with professional standards, strengthens stakeholder confidence and increases the marketability of your fraud examination services.
Why choose the ACFE SA?
As the recognised professional body for fraud examiners in South Africa, ACFE SA offers an external QCAP process administered in accordance with locally and internationally recognised standards. Our programme delivers an objective, third-party certificate that demonstrates your commitment to ethics, competence and best practice — a tangible credential that reassures regulators, boards, auditors and clients.
Why it Matters
Our QCAP benchmarks your Fraud Examination function against the ACFE Rules of Conduct and internationally respected guidance, including:
- ACFE International Fraud Manual (standards guidance)
- ACFE Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Standards
- King IV/V Report and OECD Principles of Corporate Governance
- COSO/ACFE Fraud Risk Management Guide
- Industry benchmark reports on Anti-Fraud Technology and In-House Investigation Teams
Core benefits
- Demonstrable compliance — a formal report and certificate proving adherence to professional standards.
- Enhanced credibility — strengthen stakeholder trust across audit committees, executives and external partners.
- King IV/V alignment — supports combined assurance and governance obligations.
- Improved marketability — position your FE function as professional, independent and client-ready.
- Operational uplift — identify process improvements that reduce waste and increase investigative productivity.
- Talent validation — confirm that your team has the right skills and competencies for effective fraud examinations.
- Independence affirmed — validate objectivity, impartiality and appropriate reporting lines.
- Practical tools — receive tailored measures and documentation to support ongoing compliance.
The Four Phases:
- Phase 1: Planning & Document Review
We map your Fraud Examination function, review working papers, case files, methodology and compliance plans and agree on the scope and timeline of the process.
- Phase 2: Execution & Engagement
Our team issues surveys and conducts confidential interviews with investigators, management, the board and audit committee as required. We analyse results, sample files, and test controls to assess practice against standards.
- Phase 3: Report & Recommendations
We prepare a comprehensive findings report with practical recommendations aligned to international standards. The report undergoes team validation and final sign-off.
- Phase 4: Presentation & Certification
We present findings to your executive sponsors and governance bodies. Where requirements are met, ACFE SA issues a Quality Conformance Certificate valid for two years.
Outcome:
On successful completion, the organisation will receive:
- A detailed report with prioritised recommendations.
- A two-year Quality Conformance Certificate confirming compliance with the ACFE Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.
- Guidance and documented measures to embed continuous improvement in the FE function.
